Jody Stallings, Director
Mr. Stallings has been an educator in Charleston County since 1992 and currently teaches English at Moultrie Middle School. He holds both a B.A. and M.A. in English from the College of Charleston and also serves as an adjunct professor of English for the American Public University System.
Over the course of his career, Mr. Stallings has received numerous honors for excellence in teaching, including Charleston County Schools Teacher of the Year, Walmart Teacher of the Year, Teacher Leader of the Lowcountry, American Public University Teaching Excellence Award, runner-up for CEA National Educator of the Year, and certification by the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards.
Mr. Stallings is a member of the RAND American Teacher Panel and the author of the weekly newspaper column Teacher to Parent, which earned him the South Carolina Press Association First Place Award for Column Writing. He is also the author of the novel White Lake, the Shadow Point book series, and several short stories.
Michelle Nichols, Assistant Director and Treasurer
Mrs. Nichols has been an educator in Charleston County since 2003 and currently teaches science at Moultrie Middle School. She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education and an M.Ed. in Math and Science Education, both from the College of Charleston.
She is certified by the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards and holds a Gifted and Talented endorsement. In her first year of teaching, she was honored with the Charleston County Rookie Teacher of the Year Award. She received the Moultrie Middle School Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2015 and was named Moultrie’s Teacher of the Year in 2018.
